The Pamlico County Horseman’s Association was established to promote equestrian events and activities in the Pamlico County Area.
The association has many members from Pamlico County, but also draws members from Craven, Beaufort, Carteret and other surrounding counties. The members’ interests in horses cover a wide variety of areas including English and Western riding, showing, trail riding, breeding, training, fox hunting, driving and more.
PCHA leases property in Arapahoe that contains an arena that is available for members to use for many equine activities. PCHA members enjoy riding and camping at the arena as well as participating in fun shows and club sponsored clinics. Our events are focused on family fun and education. All horses must have a current (within the past year) negative Coggins to attend the arena for any reason. Complete rules and regulations are included in the bylaws.
Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00pm. The location of the meetings is usually at the Pamlico County Visitor Center. In the event that a meeting is held in a different location it is published in the newsletter. Meetings include business of the association, planning activities, sharing information concerning upcoming events outside of the club.
Other activities of the club include a Christmas party complete with great food, games, door prizes, and wonderful fellowship with great horse people! Fun days are held at the arena for members and guests which include fun classes, food and sometimes camp-outs and trail rides.
